Hello, I’m Sarina, founder of SewGuide.com – a sewing resource I’ve been building since 2016 covering 1300+ tutorials across sewing techniques, fabric, garment construction, embroidery, and fashion design – almost entirely written by me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m a self-taught sewist and fashion design enthusiast with a deep passion for everything related to making garments and studying textile craft. Since 2016 I’ve been sharing what I learn here – breaking down complex techniques into approachable guides for sewists at every level, from complete beginners to experienced makers looking to expand their skills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SewGuide is read by thousands of sewists every month and has built a community of over 60,000 newsletter subscribers across the US, UK, and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my spare time you’ll find me buried in books – fictional and non-fictional – or in my sewing room, happily surrounded by fabric stashes and UFOs (Un-finished Objects).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love what I am doing here and never want to stop – learning about fashion and clothes, creating garments, exploring sewing techniques, doing embroidery, and using other fabric manipulation methods to decorate them. I continue to learn every day, record the processes, and share what I learn here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clothes are more than garments; they are statements of identity. Fashion is like wearing art, and clothes help us show our personality and feel special and confident. I am fascinated by the relationship between history, culture, and fashion, and by the stories behind clothing choices and designs. I have a deep appreciation for fashion as a reflection of cultural evolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And you will find that most of the articles I write are about these – fabrics, clothes, fashion and sewing projects for these.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
